Situation: Another middle-aged woman has recently had a painful shoulder surgery. She lives alone and is unable to work at this time. She will be in rehab for 3 months. She has grown children who do not know the Lord and are not supporting her at this time. She knows the Lord, but has not gone to church for a year.

Prayer Focus: Please pray for her relationship with God to be what He wants it to be. Pray that she will find a good church home and faithfully attend.

Situation:  A middle-aged married couple currently with Adult Protective Services needs their 50x120 foot lot mowed regularly in south Lorain.  They are dealing with health issues.  They do not have a church or a relationship with the Lord.
 
 Prayer Focus:   Please pray for their salvation.  Pray for the Lord to meet their needs, as well as someone from His Church to cut their grass.  Pray that they find a good church home.
 
 
 
Situation:   This is a married couple in their 50’s that are having difficulty financially at this time.  The husband had a heart attack and emergency surgery recently, so he cannot work.  His doctor as said he can go back to work in a few months, but they are really struggling with their living expenses now.  They do not attend a church.
 
 
Prayer Focus:   Please pray that they come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord and find a good church.  Pray also that God supplies the finances and needs.  Pray that they are able to make it through this time period, that God will heal him.

Prayer Focus: Please pray that she comes to know Jesus as her Savior and Lord and finds a good church home. Pray also that an insured contractor will remove the mobile home from the lot to avoid legal action by the park. Pray for healing of her marriage, and another place to live.


Situation: A young woman with 2 young sons is separated due to domestic abuse. She lost her job a few months ago and is receiving unemployment income only. She is actively seeking a job in homecare or medical assistance. She is living in a shelter for now. She is not a believer.


Prayer Focus: She has several immediate needs, but most of all, she needs to know the Lord and find a good church. Please pray for them. Pray that they will find housing, a job, and support and encouragement from the Church.

Prayer Focus: Please pray for them to grow in the Lord, and that He will provide for their needs. Pray for a good job for him. Pray for a vehicle for them also.


Situation: This woman returned to church recently and has been helping others, while in need herself. She is in Section 8 housing and must move from the house. She has raised her children, and they are not able to help her. She is in need of appliances and furniture for her new home.

Prayer Focus: Please pray for her to grow into a deeper relationship with the Lord. Pray for His peace for her and a smooth move to her new place. Pray that her small business thrives.

Situation: A woman with three children is an active member of a church. She is going to nursing school, and will finish soon. Her primary source of income, child support, was not received this month. She cannot pay her rent or utilities.


Prayer Focus: Please pray for her to grow in Christ and find her strength and peace in Him. Pray that provision will come through child support and housing (Section 8 vouchers). Pray for encouragement from friends and family, along with help. Pray that she will be able to finish her schooling.

Prayer Focus: Please pray that she will come to know Jesus as her Savior and Lord. Pray that He will provide housing and food and all her needs, as well as her baby’s needs.

Situation: A middle-aged woman has been in the hospital three times in the past six months for asthma and COPD. She has an adult son living with her, but he is not helping. She works but is unable physically to caulk windows and seal doors. She is asking for help and will pay for materials. She has no church, since her home church closed. She is seeking a new one.

Prayer Focus: Please pray that help for her will come from our local churches. Pray that she has a personal relationship with the Lord and that she finds a good church.

Situation: A single mom with two children lost her mother to cancer over a six week period of time. She took time off work to care for her mother, then she was hospitalized due to stress. She is now having difficulty with Section 8 housing program being transferred from her mother to her. She needs help with rent. She has no church.

Prayer Focus: Please pray that she comes to know Jesus personally. Pray for her to get the Section 8 voucher for housing. Pray that she and her children will be cared for by our Lord.

Situation: A stay-at-home mom of six children has been through a painful divorce. Her oldest daughter has stage-four cancer. This mom has many needs. She needs money to pay bills and to buy gas to get to doctor appointments. They do not have a church.

Prayer Focus: Please pray for them to come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Pray for her needs to be met by Him and His Church.

Situation: There was a fire in Wilkes Villa area of Elyria. It involved about eight units.

Imagine:

You’re dribbling a few dollars every few days into the gas tank for work and school as the money trickles in. The needle is always below a quarter full; to be honest, you’re just trying to keep the low fuel light from not being on. A pound of ground beef is a luxury for stretching through three or four meals.

Money takes off for vacation around the 15th until the first of next month...really there’s no room for makeup, or cleaning supplies, or repairs.

You have to think about if you can afford laundry detergent or not.

Eat, or have clean clothes. Which would you choose?

Lieutenant-Colonel Mervin Willett Goninwas among the first soldiers to liberate concentration camp Bergen-Belsen in 1945, and he described how the arrival of hundreds of lipsticks at the camp began to give the prisoners back their humanity:

“It was shortly after the British Red Cross arrived, though it may have no connection, that a very large quantity of lipstick arrived. This was not at all what we men wanted, we were screaming for hundreds and thousands of other things and I don’t know who asked for lipstick. I wish so much that I could discover who did it, it was the action of genius, sheer unadulterated brilliance. I believe nothing did more for these internees than the lipstick. Women lay in bed with no sheets and no nightie but with scarlet red lips, you saw them wandering about with nothing but a blanket over their shoulders, but with scarlet red lips. I saw a woman dead on the postmortem table and clutched in her hand was a piece of lipstick. At last someone had done something to make them individuals again, they were someone, no longer merely the number tattooed on the arm. At last they could take an interest in their appearance. That lipstick started to give them back their humanity.”
